This is a special little place in downtown Williamsburg, Virginia–a draw both in the evening where the tables are set with linen tablecloths, napkins, polished flatware and candles, as well as the morning where homemade croissants and blackberry preserves melt together in your mouth as you enjoy rich, dark, robust coffee.  We celebrated Sarah’s 21st birthday over dinner in a quiet corner several years ago and then fetched coffee on the morning of her wedding almost a year later.  The big draw for me was the window into the kitchen where I could have gazed all day at the chefs and cooks worked their magic on gas and stainless steel.
